Miracles!

The past couple of days have been emotionally draining to say the least. On Tuesday my cute little nephew, Brigham Allen, (Julie & Stanton's 3rd child) had extensive heart surgery at Boston Children's Hospital. He was born with a very rare heart defect called, L-TGA or Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries. So it's as if his heart is backwards. The way Julie put's it is that "the blood goes to the correct places, but the wrong parts are performing the labor." By looking at him, you would never know anything was wrong but if nothing was done about this, he would have the possiblity of heart failure later on in life so in order to give him the best chance on a "normal" life, this needed to be done. The surgery was a success and things look to be going as good as possible at this point thanks to wonderful surgeons, but mostly because of a loving Heavenly Father who heard and answered many, many, prayers on little Brigham's behalf. My sister and her husband are amazing people and have been so strong throughout this whole ordeal. Julie has updated her blog frequently and as a result, we have been able to be a part of this experience almost moment by moment. If you have a moment, check out Brigham's progress at allenfamilyupdate.blogspot.com. I know Brigham is only doing well because of much prayer and fasting by so many. Once again, my testimony has been strengthened knowing that Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and is aware of our every need. We love you, Julie, Stanton, and little Brigham and we're continually praying for a complete recovery.

Amongst all of this, my mom called to tell us that my grandma was in the hospital! Her heart stopped a couple of times and so after many tests, she went in for surgery to have a pacemaker put in. My poor grandma has been through so many things, she has had such poor health for so many years so it is just nothing short of a miracle that she came through the surgery so well. So, yesterday evening my grandpa called to tell us that he just brought her home from the hospital and she's doing quite well. What??? My grandma is one remarkable lady, I can't even believe how blessed our family has been.

We'll send a few prayers your way too. Life is so full of struggles and yet it takes really strong people to carry them through. It is amazing how much we can carry when it comes down to it.
