running buddies

Can I just say how much I love that my twins are 4 years old (almost 5)?? This is the best age ever!  I love that they can ride a bike and come along with me on my runs and I love that they are willing..that's the best part!  There was absolutely no complaining the whole 4 miles and they were singing, giggling, and trying to run me over :)  the whole time! I love these two little people.

Kaleb's funnies!

My friend and I got the biggest kick out of Kaleb's little "football mishap" at Morg's soccer game yesterday and she said I better record this one in the books cause it was pretty darn funny!

Kaleb brought this football to the game and it did not look like this when he brought it...:):)
After he was done playing with it for a bit, he set it down for a few minutes and then came back to it, only to find big bites taken out of it!  He picks it up and looks at me and says, "mom, look what happened to my football!"  I chuckled and said, "well, Kaleb, it's just one of those things, bud!"  He looks at me with the funniest look on his face (half smiling) and says, "mom, this is NOT just one of those things!"

He's right, this isn't just one of those things...seriously, the kids just kills me!!

Proud wife!

Yes, I know we're not supposed to be prideful but if you'll excuse me just this once, I need to brag on my husband for a minute!  He was recently one of the recipients of the Exemplary Faculty awards at BYU Idaho where he has been teaching for the past 12 years! He, along with several others, was honored at an all employee banquet a couple of weeks ago where he received the Golden Apple award and a nice gift certificate but even more exciting than that was what was said about him by the Dean of his college
:
Brother D.J. Teichert has spread study skills tips and strategies in extremely innovative ways to thousands of students across the curriculum, across campus, and across the world.

He'd be totally mad at me if he knew I was writing all this about him but I want him to know how proud I am  of all of his accomplishments!  He has somehow managed to juggle life as a Teacher at BYU Idaho, Bishop of our ward , Father of 6 kids, and Doctorate Student at the University of Idaho (in Educational Leadership), and he's pretty amazing at all of these things!

I love lots of things about my husband and I guess the best way I can describe him is that he's, hardworking, motivated, intense, passionate (not in that way:), perfectionist, loving, honest, supportive, trustworthy, and dedicated.

The other thing I have always appreciated about him is that he appreciates the things that I do for the kids, the house, and for him. I'm sure I sound ridiculous when I say this because one might think that I need a constant pat on the back, but seriously, who doesn't like to be appreciated, especially when it comes to the mundane tasks of cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, night time routines, etc.! Anyway, he frequently expresses his appreciation to me about these things and if he senses that the kids aren't being appreciative, he's quick to call them on it.  He also frequently does the dishes, helps around the house, completes my "honey-do" lists without too much complaint:), and just keeps things going around the house.  He loves the Gospel of Jesus Christ and is dedicated to his call to moving the work forward both inside our home and out.     I so wish I could express myself better but I want him to know of my love and appreciation for all the good things he does for our family!

Dad with his hiking buddies!

D.J. with his older brother, Tim (DJ's on the right) It's sad but I have very few pictures of D.J., partly because he's not a very big fan of having his picture taken and partly because he spends a lot of his time at work, at school, and when he's home, he's stuck in the office working his guts out...there are only so many desk shot pictures a girl can take!:)

DJ with his wonderful mother...this has to be one of my favorite pictures of all time!
Though these are totally out-dated, I love these because of DJ's smile!  I mentioned that he doesn't like pictures but Kara (our neighbor who took these photo's), is always good for a little joking around during the photo shoot!

Another hidden gem

I have thousands of pictures on my computer and sadly, I rarely do anything with them except for the occasional photo book, my blog (when I get to it, which is never), and when I make my children's special 8th Birthday video put to music.  Even though Kaleb's 8th Birthday is still several months away, I'm starting now so when crazy December rolls around I'm not totally panicking.  I found these cute photos of some of our fun family hikes and day trips that we took last summer...I think these are from Lower Palisades and Jenny's Lake!

Picture of the day!

I think we have another soccer fanatic in the house and her name is Kamryn Teichert!  Sad to say that the season is nearly over but boy has it been a fun one!  This group of kids that she plays with is pretty hilarious to watch, but seriously, I think any group of 5 year old's playing soccer is hilarious!
The team consists of Kamryn, Larcen (her best buddy down the street) who's mom happens to be the coach, Taya, Rachel, Matthew, and Zach!  Larcen is pretty amazing with her footwork and Kamryn has some pretty good speed and is starting to get the hang of moving and passing the ball!  I had to laugh because after the first game/practice, Kamryn got in the car and informed me that she plans on playing the next season, and the next one, and the next one....I LOVE IT!  I never thought I'd be much in to soccer but Morgan's team has me converted and I'm pretty sure Kamryn is on her way to being as much a soccer lover as her big sister!

The Three Amigos

While going through mounds of pictures on my computer, I came across theses gems that my friend, Kara, took of her little girl, Larcen, and the twins!  These guys are only a few months apart and are very best buddies.  They play together almost every day since we're just down the street from one another.  I'm having a hard time excepting the fact that they'll be heading off to school this Fall....good thing it's only 1/2 day Kindergarten or I think I'd cry!

We did not plan the yellow outfits!  Larcen and Kamryn seem to pick similar outfits about 80% of the time!  Porter just happens to love the his yellow shirt and wears it 80% of the time so there you have it!:):)

One of those smile moments...

I walked in the living room the other day to see this awesome sight!  Yes, I know they are gathered around an electronic device which is probably not something to be proud of but, hey, they weren't arguing, pushing, name calling, (all those things that never occur at our house) wink, wink!  But, they were all watching their most favorite shows E.V.E.R....BYU Divine Comedy, Studio C, seriously people, most of them are just down right hilarious and the best part is that it's totally clean humor and every single one of my kids finds it amusing!  I just have to smile when I look at this picture with all 6 of them crowded around 1 tiny Ipad.....I'm gonna miss these days!
