I'm only one person.....

but I need to be 4 people tonight.  Thursday's stink a little bit because my hubby has classes and doesn't arrive home until 9:30 p.m. on most occasions.  I'm supposed to be at Regan's basketball game, Kaleb's wrestling practice, Jordyn's clogging class, and the school science fair....all between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00.  This is what happens when you have 6 kids, 4 of which are involved in an activity or two.  Oh, and to make it even more complicated, we're supposed to be leaving for Cokeville tonight for a fun ski weekend and visit with DJ's family.  Ideally, the car needs to be packed and ready to go by the time DJ returns home, (not his request) just my desire to not be driving at midnight when all the deer and antelope decide to graze in the middle of the road.  Wish me luck!

Happy Valentine's Day

I really love Valentine's Day!  The kids love it because of the candy and the fun breakfast I started doing a few years back.  Jordyn was so excited last night at bed time and said, "mom, it's feels kind of like Christmas. (wow, no pressure)   I really love preparing everything for our special breakfast and surprising them all before they head off to school.  I'm not creative, never have been, probably never will be, but I do love to let my kids and husband know how much I love them by preparing a fun breakfast and leaving a fun note for each of them!  A big shout out to my mom for giving the kids the cutest Valentine package complete with all of the necessary paper goods for our Valentine breakfast, including a cute banner and chocolates which were consumed within 1/2 hour of recieving them.  What can I say...we are sugar-aholics at our house!  Anyway, we had a yummy breakfast made up of heart shaped German pancakes, strawberries and whipped cream, sausage, bacon and juice.  The kids were in heaven with breakfast meats because that only happens on special occasions such as this:)  I made a big paper heart for the backs of their chairs with their name on it and wrote things that I love about them all over the heart.  The girls (minus Regan) all requested heart braids in their hair so we were a busy bunch this morning but everyone went out the door with adorable hair do's for once!

Wisdom of a "3" year old!

I spent the day with my head in the toilet yesterday.  It was awful and I hated every minute of it, except for the moment I pulled my head out of the toilet to see Kamryn standing there with the sweetest look on her face and she very lovingly said, "I bet you want your mom right now."  She's right, I did want my mom.  I think we never get over wanting our mom's loves and hugs, especially when we're sick.  Anyway, it's crazy how much we've all been sick but it's nearly impossible to escape it with all of the sickness going around in the schools and all the yummy sick germs my kids have been bringing home.  In the past few weeks we've had everything from Bronchitis, sore throat, fever, cough, throwing up, runny nose.....you get the idea. It's been nasty and no fun at all.  I didn't move from my bed except to drag myself to the bathroom for nearly 7 hours so Porter, Kami, and Kaleb fended for themselves the whole time.  Kaleb was so helpful, in fact, he brought me a piece of toast with butter hoping that I'd eat a little something and then next thing I know, he'd cleaned up Porter and Kamryn's room and even made the beds. Kami came and snuggled with me and fell fast asleep for 2 1/2 hours.  I think we all needed a little down time after all of the sickness we've had and the continual running around from one activity to the next.  I'm better today, the kids are all in school and feeling better and I'm trying to figure out how to air out my entire house out to get rid of all of the sick bugs.  I'm in need of suggestions.

Blessed!

My heart is literally bursting at the seems today with love for my children and husband.  I don't know what it is but it's almost tangible.  Maybe it was the frequent and out of no where hugs around my waist from my buddy, Kaleb.  Or, maybe it was Porter and Kami trying there hardest to recite Mosiah 2:17 from the back of the car.  (We've been challenged by our Bishopric to memorize all 100 scripture mastery scriptures by the end of the year and I'm amazed at how little one's minds absorb so much information when you don't even think they are paying attention)  Or, maybe it was Jordyn telling me that she hates it when I go running in the morning because she loves to just have me safe inside our house.:)  It could've been any number of things but I know this much....I love my life.  I wouldn't change a thing.  Heavenly Father continually blesses me even when I don't deserve it.  He blessed me with 6 awesome children.  He blessed me with a loving, faithful, & hardworking husband that loves and understands me.  I'm blessed beyond measure.
