Christmas 2008

It's been a great holiday filled with parties, food, presents, food, games, more food, sledding, movies, & too much food! I'm so far behind on everything so I'm dumping all my Christmas pictures in to one post. We had a fun Christmas party out in Park Valley with my cousins, Aunt's, Uncles, & G& G Rose. Christmas Eve Day we had another get together at Mom and Dad Rose's house with everyone but Matt, Sara, Luke, Emma, & Gavin. (missed you guys a ton!) We had our own Christmas Eve fun at our home with the kids and then woke up bright and early Christmas morning for a crazy, fun-filled day.

My favorite part of the party, the nativity put on by the kids. Jordyn got to be Mary this year, actually, we had two Mary's and two baby Jesus's, Porter was a baby Jesus. Morgan & Regan were shepherds & Kaleb was a lamb.

Here are my Grandparents, Gary and Dorothy Rose, and me with my dad! For one of the games we played, the kids got to decorate grandma like a Christmas tree with a bag of decorations. The kids had a ball and mom was a great sport.

The kids got to sit on Santa's lap at our ward Christmas party. Kaleb looks less than thrilled in this picture but he was actually so excited to see Santa, my neighbor luckily captured a great picture of him grinning from ear to ear on Santa's lap. Anyway, the girls were excited except you can tell from Regan's face that she's wondering if she's too old to be doing this. The babies were not happy campers that evening so I'm not sure if they were actually scared of Santa or just being cranky. Kaleb asked Santa for a guitar, Morgan asked for an E-Pet, Regan didn't ask for anything, and Jordyn asked for a cash register. If I could ask Santa for something it would be
kids that don't fight. Is that too much to ask???
I love these pictures, Porter looks like he's trying to be Mr. Innocent. I'm pretty sure Kamryn will be the more mischievous one of the two.

The babies started making their way towards the tree as Christmas approached. They were curious about it but hated the prickly feel but would keep coming back for more.
I cooked my first turkey EVER a couple of days before Christmas. It turned out really yummy so I just had to document it. I printed a Christmas Bingo game for the kids to play on Christmas Eve, they ended up playing for a couple of hours. I think the plate of goodies that Regan put together for prizes kept them engaged.
The party at G&G Rose's house was so much fun. Mom and dad fixed clam chowder and breadsticks (tradition) and lots of other yummy appetizers. We ate, visited, opened presents and the kids had a ball being with cousins.
Morgan and Regan were so excited to see DJ open his presents from the. Morgan gave him a box of Sugar babies and Regan gave him a butterfinger candy bar. It was so cute to see the anticipation in their faces as he was opening their gifts. I asked Morgan what her favorite gift was that she got and she said probably her drumset and then she said, "my favorite gift I gave was definetly dad's sugar babies!"

I think the kids had a fun Christmas! Jordyn got her much anticipated cash register from Santa, Regan got a karaoke machine & High School musical CD, Morgan got a drum set and E-pet, and Kaleb got a bike and then Santa brought them all a guitar to share. Kaleb has been asking for a guitar for the longest time so he was pretty thirlled. The kids also got lots of cute things from Grandma's and Grandpa's and cousins so they have been busy playing and making lots of messes. I have to say that their favorite things are the Dance Dance Revolution game Regan got from DJ, the guitar, drumset, Kaleb's stick horse, and the snow tube.
DJ and I spent 2 days making 250 spudnuts to take around to the neighbors. This is our 3rd year doing this as a family so we couldn't break tradition. They turned out yummy and we ate too many. The kids have spent tons of time outside sledding down our walk out basement and the snow pile DJ made in the front yard with all the shoveling he's done in the past week. It's been a great holiday, one we won't soon forget.

Crazy kids!

It's been fun to be together during the holidays and I've captured my kids in some of their goofiest, sugar-high, sleep deprived moments. I'm sure they will be so happy with me when they discover these pictures on here.
