Santa got it right this year bringing Kaleb a guitar. Between his straw hat, stick horse, and guitar, he's gone a "little bit country." He serenades us on a daily basis with a guitar performance like this one. Too bad he doesn't make a bit of sense.

Porter on the attack!
This is a typical moment for Porter and Kamryn these days. It's funny to see them interact with one another and occasionally fight for a toy. Kamryn gets around a little bit better than Porter right now so she usually tries to sit on top of him and ends up knocking him over. He's pretty mellow but sometimes the claws come out, like this little episode. In case you are wondering, that is Jordyn howling in the background.

I love my shoes!
I was desperately in need of a new pair of shoes when my sister called to tell me she was getting rid of this awesome pair of Doc's. She wondered if they'd fit me..........YES!!! They fit perfect and they are so comfy! I've had several people tell me they love my shoes (which, by the way, never happened before) I'd had the other pair for around 8 years old and they were really showing their age. I'm not complaining though, I hate forking out money for shoes and I figure they kept my feet warm so why get new. Anyway, at the Chiropractor on Monday, the guy took a look at my shoes and said, "Sweet shoes, OLD but sweet." I thought it was funny and I'm just happy that my sister gave them to me! Thanks, JUJ!!! My feet love you.
Oh, my other Sister, Lori, made me the cutest apron ever! I'm so glad that I have talented sisters to keep me in style. You guys are the best!

Catching Up!
Yikes! I'm behind a week and really struggling to recall what we've been up to, I just know it's been busy.
Sunday was ward conference so naturally DJ had to speak. He gave a great talk based upon 3 ideas or prerequisites to guide us on the pathway to peace taken from one of President Monson's addresses. He shared so many good ideas and personal in sites. I had to laugh when I talked with him later because apparently he lost half of his talk so he said he just "made due." I couldn't tell but he was sure disgusted with himself. Anyway, it was so exciting to actually have him home for the whole afternoon and the kids got to spend some good time with him. He and Morgan spent over an hour on the computer singing the primary songs. I think DJ pulled them up on LDS.org where it brings the sheet music up and highlights the words as you go. Morgan is not very confident in her singing so it was especially cute to see.
Oh, Monday morning I guess DJ had had enough of my complaining about my back & neck and took it upon himself to make me an appt. with the Chiropractor. I kinked my neck over a month ago and my back has also been killing me. I've been meaning to get something done about it so thanks to my hubby, my back feels amazing for now, and my neck is making improvement. I'm sure sleeping on the floor 2 nights before didn't really help the situation, it's just sad to admit that I'm getting old and falling apart and can't hack one night w/out my mattress.
While I was at the Chiropractor, DJ kept all the kids and took them to the church to play ball with some of their friends. He had a ball and ended up having a lot of baby holders which he's always happy about. Afterwards, Morgan & Regan both had fun lunch get together's at their friends houses, Jordyn had a play date and Kaleb & the babies took much need naps. So, for about a half hour DJ and I had complete silence!! LOVE IT!!!
Friday I took all the kids to the school to have lunch with Regan. Jordyn and Kaleb were so excited for the menu: Pizza, mandarin oranges, salad, and strawberry shortcake and, of course, they love hanging out with big sis and getting to play on the school playground. I'm such a space cadet though...I forgot to order our lunches with the school so on the way up I frantically called the school to see if they would have extra's and they assured me they did. (I would've had 3 VERY disappointed children if not) When I got there, Regan was anxiously waiting for us with lunch tokens for all of us. She, being the responsible child she is, had ordered 4 extra lunches first thing in the morning. Seriously, what would I do without her????
Friday night I decided to have a movie party with the kids and even promised them I'd sleep downstairs on the hard floor with them since we would already be staying up late. My back has already been giving me trouble and that certainly didn't help but we're making memories, right? Anyway, we didn't get started until DJ got back from the girls basketball practice so it was really late but Jordyn and Kaleb helped me pop lots of popcorn, we made no-bake peanut butter cookies, and had pop for a drink. I don't ever buy pop unless we're having a party so the kids get really excited about it. We watched "A Cinderella Story," & "Kung Fu Panda" and Regan watched part of Prince Caspian but I couldn't hold my eyelids open for another second so I think she finally gave up at midnight. We all ate too much, got too little sleep, but it made the kids smile soit was worth it.

Babies in a basket!
The kids get such a kick out of anything to do with the babies. Regan stripped them down to nothing but a diaper and made this little bed for them. You can tell by their faces they LOVE the attention.
DJ absolutely DESPISES markers! I guess this would be why, that and the fact that the kids always have them all over their fingers. This just made me laugh because I walked away for a few minutes and this is what I came back to. I have a feeling this is just the beginning of much mischief.

Regan's D.A.R.E. Graduation
Regan had D.A.R.E. Graduation Wednesday night. The D.A.R.E. class was held once a week since the beginning of the school year and she has really enjoyed it. The graduation was a lot of fun and the kids got to sing a couple of their songs they've learned throughout the course of the class and then recieved their graduation certificates. The songs they learned are so cute and really get the kids excited about saying "No" to drugs. At the end of the graduation several of the officers put together a band and jammed out concert style for the kids. It was really entertaining and fun to see the kids enjoying themselves. Kaleb was sitting on my lap bouncing up and down and swaying back and forth....he was really having a great time.
Oh, the kids got to order their own t-shirts and evidently Regan doesn't quite understand sizes because she ordered an adult medium, it was seriously a dress on her but she tied it on the side and it looked adorable.

Where's the beef?
Evidently we eat WAY too much chicken at our house because tonight I called the kids to dinner and before they even got to the table to see what we were having, here came Kaleb moping with a huge frown on his face and says, "I don't want to eat dinner, I don't yike chicken!" AND just for the record, we weren't even having chicken, we were having tacos!!
REGAN: Mom, I have to write a biography about someone I admire, who should I do it on?
ME: I don't care, who do you admire??
REGAN: Lot's of people, I guess I could write it about you and say that you liked lots of boys in middle school. HE HE HE HE , WHAT!! How did she know that?? OH, then it occurred to me that she found my middle school journal last year and spent a few hours reading it until I yanked it away from her and hid it! (or I might have thrown it away..hopefully) As I recall, I named every boy I ever had a crush on and I always ended by saying, "he was soooo cute." See, things come back to haunt you!!!
Oh, and she ended up doing her biography of Grandpa Johnson....a much much better choice! I'll have to post it when she gets it back.
Jordyn: Spunky little Jordyn loves to tease everyone in the house, but especially Regan. Tonight she climbed up on the bar where Regan was doing homework and started singing the 2nd Article of Faith song only changed the words to, "We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Regan's transgressions" WHAT A STINK! She is way too smart for her own good and practically begs for spankings!

Morgan did a cute project in her primary class this past Sunday and has been hounding me all week to take a picture of she and Jordyn so she could make one for their bedroom that they share. Four days later, I finally got around to helping her. I snapped this shot of the two of them right before Regan's D.A.R.E graduation. I LOVE this picture! Oh, and I took a picture of the project that she did in Primary as well as the one she made last night w/ she and Jordyn. Morgan loves projects and hounds me constantly for something new to do. She is really creative!
Thanks, Janna!
Just a quick thank you to my awesome neighbor to the south, Janna, for coming up with the cute blog design! Thank goodness for talented people in my life who are willing to come to my rescue! Thank you, thank you!

Jordyn funny's
Jordyn and I were sitting on the couch doing a little activity book when she asked me to draw her a horse. I agreed and began to sketch my best drawing of a horse when Jordyn kindly said, "mom, it's okay if it looks like a rhinoceros!" Well, I just found something else I'm not good at, DRAWING!! Well, I actually already new that but was hoping my 5 year old wouldn't notice!!

Bummer!
I've been a bit bummed today because DJ started back to work today after a 2 week break. He did work Saturday but aside from that we've been together! He's still been really busy with his Bishop responsibilities but it's been so nice to have him at home a lot of the time and have some extra hands to help with kids and even more, just to have him around! He's been the Bishop of our ward for over 6 months now and though it has been a real blessing to our family, it hasn't come without hard times. I miss sitting with him at church, being together on Sunday afternoon and just generally miss him so it's been so great for the kids and I to have some time with him. He took the kids sledding one day, we all went to Leo's Place another day, and he went on a daddy daughter outing with Regan that she planned for one of her Faith in God requirements.....she was pretty excited about that. The kids love having him here in the evening and were thrilled that he would actually be home early in the afternoon Sunday because of the 9:00 church. (another reason why I love 9:00 church now) Anyway, I'm afraid we won't see much of him for the next few months because he's now teaching a few classes on top of his usual work responsibilities in hopes to obtain another position within his department so he is swamped and mentioned that he thinks he bit off more than he can chew. I believe in him though and know that somehow things will get done. Heavenly Father must know that our family can handle this; I just need to have more Faith, patience, gratitude, etc. I'm grateful for the blessings that are mine....a faithful & devoted husband, 6 beautiful kids, my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and much much more. Life is good!!!
I mentioned my 6 beautiful kids so I thought I would share a few thoughts about each one because they are each so different but all great kids.
Regan: thoughtful, smart, patient, loving, emotional, timid, desires to do right, silly, affectionate, sweet & beautiful
Morgan: sweet, smart, kind, giving, silly, shy, laid back, talented, wants to choose the right, beautiful & goofy
Jordyn: Confident, sweet, loves to give hugs, smart, fun, talkative, dramatic, silly, loud, loving, good help
Kaleb: handsome, loves to be with his sisters, great big brother to the babies, affectionate, smart, sweet, loud, expressive & silly
Kamryn: cute as a button, sweet, mover, good eater, smiley, giggly
Porter: snuggly, sweet, chubby, laid back, stinking cute, smiley, great eater

Big day at Primary!
Yesterday was a big day for the kids as they all got to change primary classes AND Kaleb is now in Sunbeams. Crazy!! I can't believe my little guy is old enough. It was pretty darn cute to see him sitting there with his class as I walked by. Right after Sacrament meeting he, very loudly, said, "mom, I'm so excited for primary, it's going to be so fun." I'm just hoping that he keep that enthusiasm. Anyway, the kids were so excited for the changes to new classes and their new teachers will be fabulous. I am so excited for the new songs that they will learn this year and love that they are pulling in songs from the Friend Magazines as well as other sources. There are really some great songs with beautiful messages. It was a great day yesterday as we switched to the 9:00 a.m schedule. I was up and going by 6:00 and we were out the door by 8:40 and I even managed to get the babies cereal fed to them. Hooray!! I congratulated the kids as we were pulling out of the driveway and Regan said, "mom, I think we did so well because we were fresh!" I agree, I love the early schedule.

A VERY close call!
I get sick to my stomach every time I think of our close call with Porter yesterday. The girls had the neighbor girls over to play and Morgan's little friend asked to hold Porter so I let her; I had Kamryn in my arms and made the mistake of walking out of the room for just a second to grab her binky. After only being gone for a minute, I came out in to the hallway just in time to see Porter sitting up on the bar by himself with his little feet dangling over the edge of the counter. (yes, you read that right, my 6 month old sitting on the edge of the bar)! I guess my crazy motherly instincts kicked in because I started running toward him and yelling, "OH MY HECK, GRAB PORTER QUICK!!!" I am such a dummy because I could have scared him in to falling off the bar with all my yelling but thankfully I got to him first. I felt so bad that I had hollered and I probably scared the living tar out of the little gal but luckily she didn't cry. I tried to recover from my mini heart attack and explain to her that you never leave babies up on counters, etc. and that I wasn't mad at her but that it just scared me to death. Anyway, everytime I think of what could've happened, it gives me the chills. I am so thankful that Porter is fine and I'm hoping that I didn't scar the neighbor girl.

Babies
Porter and Kamryn will be 7 months on the 11th and they are growing and changing so fast. They both started eating baby food over a month ago and I'm behind on pictures of these fun events. Feeding time is quite the ordeal with 2 very hungry little monsters. I'm still trying to figure out the best way to feed them but for right now, they just eat out of the same containers and off the same spoon, I know, that may seem disgusting but, hey, their twins, they share everything, even germs. Actually, this morning I tried two separate containers and it went okay until I mixed up their spoons and containers. Oh well, atleast they both got food in their stomachs!
Kamryn learned to sit up a few weeks ago and Porter learned just 2 weeks later. They are so much happier now that they can sit up and watch the kids. In fact, right now they are out in the living room watching Kaleb play with his tools and his farm set. They are content to chew on his toys and watch him. I love days like this!!
Kamryn has been such a little "ham" for the camera this past week and has been so much happier. I think she overheard me telling a lady in my ward that she is as naughty as Porter is good. Now I feel really bad that I said that but at the time I was at my wits end with her. It's a good thing they are both so adorable or I would have lost it by now.
I love this little boy! Even though he can be quite the little stinker, he is so adorable and has such a cute personality. He is so cute with the babies, today while they were watching him play, he stopped what he was doing to give them both kisses on their cheeks then went right back to playing. There are a couple of people in the ward that love to tease him and say, "they are my babies, Kaleb," and he gets really possessive and quickly says, "no, Porter and Kamryn are mine." I'm so thankful that he loves them so much and isn't jealous of them
