DJ and I participated in the Temple to Temple Relay race put on by BYU Idaho again this year. This is DJ's 3rd year and my 2nd and we are addicted! We've been fortunate enough to land on some pretty good teams in years past so this year when DJ was put in charge of getting our team together we were excited to see how things turned out. Our team consisted of mainly employees working in DJ's department so we picked the original name of "Team Academic Support." Wow, aren't we creative?:) Our team consisted of 8 runners and each leg had varying distances, ranging from 3-8 miles. The race starts right across from the beautiful Rexburg Temple and finishes at the beautiful Idaho Falls Temple with the total distance being 37.2 miles! We ended up finishing 9th overall out of 91 teams and with an overall finish time of 4 hours 53 min. Yes, we were one whole hour behind the 1st place team:( but the other 7 teams ahead of us were within 15-20 minutes of one anothe
r! Way to go Team Academic Support!
The photo above was taken before the race in front of the Rexburg Temple with our complete team!
The photo below was taken at the end of the race and, no, DJ didn't wear his running clothes underneath is church clothes, and, no, I didn't die and get replaced by a 3 year old and a cute pregnant lady! That's the dang thing about Saturday's...they are not long enough and there are always way too many things to cram in to the day so we ran our legs of the race and DJ ran home to shower and change for his church meetings and I ran home to make it to Morg's soccer game!
